The 2020 UK Pool & Spa Awards celebrates the tenth anniversary of an event that has celebrated the jewels in the crown of the water leisure industry from public swimming pool venues such as leisure centres and holiday parks to home swimming pools, hot tubs and swim spas.
Showcasing the very best examples of pool and spa design, supply and build, from across the country, an estimated 1,500 swimming pool and hot tub products and projects have been entered into the competition in the past decade, featuring the work of more than 200 specialist water leisure companies and venues.
Winners across 30 categories are presented with trophies and certificates at the business networking and promotional evening earlier this week, attended by over 200 of the industry’s key personnel including leisure operators, pool builders, designers, hot tub manufacturers and retailers.
Competition entrants are awarded gold, silver or bronze standard in the contest covering both home and commercial pool and spa facilities. There was a huge marketing boost at stake, for the winning companies in a competition that attracts over 2,000 on line votes as well as votes from judges, before being scrutinised by an independent jury.
Last year's VIP guest was Sharron Davies who has been one of the UK’s best known and most popular sportswomen since bursting onto the scene as a 13 year old Olympian. Details of this year's presentation, scheduled for December, will be announced in due course.
“Open to everyone involved in the delivery of water leisure both at home and in the community, for ten years, the UK Pool & Spa Awards have attracted entries from companies with a diverse spread of projects, products and people,” comments Christina Connor, of Waterland Media, the event organisers.
“Projects are becoming more involved and more expensive with a clear trend for people to improve rather than move by investing in their own leisure facilities for aquatic exercise, relation and social time at home.
Christina adds: "Our robust three tier voting procedure has helped earn the competition the respect of the industry which the event aims to serve."
