The Enfield Project
04. Swim Spa Project of the year
The client aimed to redesign their garden to create a space that combined beauty and functionality. Due to the limited size of the garden, a traditional swimming pool was not an option. Instead, they sought to incorporate a Swim Spa that would provide a powerful exercise solution while preserving the aesthetic and design of the garden. Swimming was an important part of their fitness routine, so the solution needed to deliver a robust swimming experience without overwhelming the garden's design.
Why this entry deserves to win
The result is a beautifully integrated Swim Spa that fits perfectly within the compact garden, providing the client with a powerful and energy-efficient swimming solution. The careful planning and execution of the in-ground installation and remote plant room have ensured that the Swim Spa is both functional and easy to maintain, making it an ideal feature for the client’s redesigned garden.

Swim Spa Model: Compass Ceramic Pools Fit 50, Nova Anthracite, providing a compact yet powerful solution for swim exercise. Water Flow System: The Swim Spa is equipped with a German-made Turbine SwimJet, delivering a superior swimming experience through a strong and consistent water flow, controlled via remote. Heating System: The Swim Spa is heated using a high-efficiency heat pump, ensuring energy-efficient operation and reduced running costs compared to standard electric heaters. In-Ground Installation: The Swim Spa was installed fully in-ground to maintain the garden’s aesthetic, with sandstone paving used to complement the overall design. Accessibility: A remote plant room was installed, housing all essential equipment, ensuring easy access for maintenance and servicing without disrupting the Swim Spa’s in-ground design. Lighting: The project included the installation of white LED lights, providing clear, vibrant illumination for evening use. The primary challenge of this project was to integrate a functional Swim Spa into a limited garden space without compromising on the aesthetic appeal. By sinking the Swim Spa in-ground and constructing a remote plant room, the project team was able to deliver a solution that met the client’s need for a powerful swimming experience while maintaining the visual integrity of the garden. Another challenge was ensuring the Swim Spa could operate efficiently year-round. The installation of a heat pump addressed this concern, providing an energy-efficient solution that allowed the client to enjoy their Swim Spa without worrying about high operational costs.
