In December 2020, a retired couple from Eastbourne decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of having a swimming pool in their home. After spending their entire lives in the same house, they wanted to enjoy the comfort of a pool without moving. Despite the house not being a typical property where you would expect a pool, they were determined to create a personal oasis. The couple had worked tirelessly their entire lives, running a building company, and now it was time to enjoy the fruits of their lab

A Pool for Health and EnjoymentThe pool became a central part of the couple's daily life, with the husband swimming most days to aid his recovery and improve his health. The joy it brought to them was immeasurable. Sadly, after only 1.5 years of enjoying their dream pool, the husband passed away on December 27, 2022.A Heartfelt ConnectionOur relationship with the couple was more than just a typical client-contractor dynamic. One of our service engineers, who regularly maintained the pool, was invited to the husband's funeral in January 2023. On the back of the service card was a touching photo of the couple enjoying their pool, a testament to the joy and memories it provided them in his final years.

Just as we were about to start the project in June 2021, the husband suffered a heart attack. Understanding the urgency and importance of completing the pool, we adjusted our build schedule, allocating additional staff to ensure the project was completed swiftly. From the moment the pool shell was placed in the ground, we managed to hand over the fully functional pool to the clients in just 10 days, ensuring that it was ready for the husband's return from the hospital. The couple chose the Compass Ceramic Pools XL-Lounger 95 Nova Stone, a ceramic pool that combined the durability they sought with a modern, high-tech feel. The pool was equipped with fully internet-connected systems, allowing for remote monitoring and maintenance, ensuring the couple could enjoy their pool with peace of mind. The setup included a freshwater system with a heat pump, solar slats for energy efficiency, and a beautiful stainless steel waterfall feature that enhanced their gardens ambiance.
