This project transformed an ageing swimming pool into a fresh, contemporary outdoor space. The inherited pool featured an outdated safety cover and tired, old paving. We replaced the existing cover with a modern Certikin Coverstar system and completely renewed the surrounding area with high quality natural stone paving. The pool itself was carefully refreshed, preserving the existing structure while giving the entire installation a sophisticated new lease of life.

We believe this project deserves to win because it demonstrates how an ageing swimming pool can be transformed through intelligent refurbishment rather than complete replacement. We significantly improved both the appearance and performance of the installation, combining a modern Certikin Coverstar, natural stone paving and a refreshed pool with a completely upgraded filtration and heating system. Replacing the inefficient gas boiler and undersized filter with modern, correctly specified equipment has delivered a more efficient, reliable and enjoyable pool for the client. The project showcases our ability to maximise existing assets while delivering a result that feels entirely new.

The inspiration was to give the existing pool a contemporary, timeless appearance while retaining the character and structure of the original installation. Working closely with the client, we focused on the areas that most needed modernising: replacing the dated safety cover and tired paving with a sleek Certikin Coverstar and carefully selected natural stone. The aim was to create a more cohesive, sophisticated setting that felt like a complete transformation rather than simply an update.

The refurbishment incorporated a significant upgrade to both the aesthetics and technical performance of the existing pool. The outdated safety cover was replaced with a modern Certikin Coverstar system, while the existing paving was replaced with high quality natural stone from London Stone. The original filtration system consisted of an undersized sand filter and an ageing gas boiler. We upgraded this to a Superpool Pro pump and filter system, correctly specified to improve circulation and filtration performance. The gas boiler was replaced with a modern air source heat pump supplied by Golden Coast, providing a more efficient and sustainable method of heating the pool. The result was not only a complete visual transformation, but a substantial improvement to the pool's filtration, heating efficiency, usability and long-term running performance.
