Why this entry deserves to win

This project deserves to win because it combines luxury, technical precision and everyday practicality in a beautifully resolved indoor pool and spa environment. The brief was to create a private wellness space for daily swimming, while also providing a relaxed and welcoming setting for family use. The finished product achieves this balance, creating a space that feels elegant, calm and highly functional.Aqua Platinum Projects’ scope covered the concrete pool shell, render, tanking, tiling, AHU, ducting and GRP spa installation, requiring close coordination throughout the project. One of the key challenges was managing noise and vibration from the plant room equipment. With neighbouring properties close by, the system needed to perform efficiently while remaining as quiet and unobtrusive as possible. Working closely with Harrison Architects and Holt, the team developed and implemented the necessary measures without compromising the design or finish. The iridescent Ezarri mosaics add depth, movement and a distinctive sense of luxury to the spa, showcasing the quality of the workmanship. The result is a sophisticated residential leisure facility that successfully brings together thoughtful design, specialist engineering and high-quali

Design information

The design was centred around creating a versatile wellness space that would work equally well for swimming, relaxation and family use. The 12m pool provides a practical length for regular swimming and exercise, while the adjacent GRP spa creates a more relaxed area for unwinding. The brief was to achieve an elegant and sophisticated space without compromising on practicality. Aqua Platinum worked closely with the client and Harrison Architects throughout the design and construction process to ensure the pool, spa and associated systems were carefully integrated into the overall architecture. The use of iridescent Ezarri mosaics within the spa adds a distinctive and luxurious finish, while the overall design remains clean and understated, creating a space that feels equally suited to everyday family use and relaxation.

Technical information

Technical Specification • Pool: 12m x 4m, depth 1.4m • Filtration turnover: 3.25 hours • Filter: Waterco Micron Side Mount Bobbin Wound Sand Filter, 750mm • Circulation pump: Waterco Hydrostorm 200 • Feature pump: Waterco Hydrostorm 300 • Chemical control: Bayrol Relax • Heat exchanger: Bowman EC80-5113, 1T • UV: Waterco 55W Technical Challenge: One of the key challenges was managing plant room noise and vibration within a residential environment. The air blowers and AHU were located close to neighbouring properties, so it was essential that the facility could operate effectively without creating unacceptable levels of noise or vibration for the client or surrounding properties. We worked closely with Harrison Architects to establish the required noise and vibration specifications at an early stage. This allowed the correct anti-vibration mats, clips and associated measures to be identified and incorporated during procurement and installation. The result is a high-performance indoor pool and spa facility that delivers the required environmental control and water treatment while remaining discreet and comfortable within its residential setting.
