Loxone Automation & Monitoring Loxone was incorporated to provide a centralised automation and monitoring platform for the pool installation. Rather than requiring the client to interact independently with multiple pieces of equipment, key pool functions can be brought together within a more intelligent control environment. This allows sophisticated engineering to operate largely in the background while keeping the user experience straightforward. BESGO Automatic Backwashing BESGO automatic backwashing was installed to remove one of the most repetitive manual maintenance requirements associated with conventional sand filtration. The system allows the filter to be backwashed automatically and consistently, supporting reliable filtration performance while significantly reducing client intervention. Its integration with the wider automation strategy is an important part of the overall system design. BESGO Skimmer Control BESGO skimmer control was incorporated to provide greater hydraulic control of the pool's surface-water management. This is particularly relevant because the stainless-steel skimmer arrangement allows the pool to operate with reduced freeboard. The system helps manage flow through the skimmers effectively while integrating with the wider circulation and automation strategy. Stainless-Steel Reduced-Freeboard Skimmers Stainless-steel skimmers were selected specifically to allow a higher operating water level and reduced freeboard. This creates one of the defining visual characteristics of the project, bringing the water surface closer to the surrounding paving and giving the pool a refined, contemporary appearance. The system achieves much of the visual impact associated with a deck-level pool while retaining the practical advantages of a skimmer installation. Lighthouse Pools Sand Filter The Lighthouse Pools sand filter was selected specifically for its suitability within the BESGO backwashing configuration. Its inclusion demonstrates the system-led approach taken throughout the project. Rather than selecting filtration equipment in isolation, the filter was chosen according to how effectively it would integrate with the automatic valve and hydraulic arrangement. Certikin Variable-Speed Circulation Pump The Certikin variable-speed circulation pump provides flexible control over water movement throughout the pool. Pump output can be reduced during normal filtration to minimise energy consumption and noise, while higher speeds can be used when additional flow is required. This supports a more efficient hydraulic system and avoids unnecessary operation at maximum output. Kuntze Automatic Dosing System The Kuntze automatic dosing system continuously monitors and manages the pool's water chemistry. Automated adjustment maintains stable chemical conditions, helping to ensure consistently clear, hygienic and comfortable bathing water. It also reduces the need for regular manual intervention, reinforcing the low-maintenance philosophy of the project. Certikin 3D On-Site Lining Certikin 3D on-site lining was selected for its durability, premium appearance and ability to accommodate the detailed geometry of the pool. The lining follows the broad staircase, integrated seating, spa jets and fittings accurately, creating a continuous and cohesive interior finish. Integrated Hydrotherapy Seating The pool incorporates a dedicated submerged seating area fitted with multiple spa jets. This provides a genuine hydrotherapy and relaxation zone without requiring a separate standalone spa. The feature significantly increases the versatility of the installation while maintaining the clean architectural appearance of the main pool. Wide Integrated Entrance Steps The broad entrance steps provide safe and comfortable access while also forming part of the leisure space. Their scale allows them to function as a shallow relaxation area, helping the pool cater equally well for swimming, socialising and family use. Fully Automatic Coverseal Safety Cover A fully automatic Coverseal safety cover with lift-and-drop operation was installed to provide security without compromising the visual simplicity of the pool. The system creates a protective barrier when closed, while its automated operation makes securing the pool quick and convenient. When open, the lift-and-drop arrangement allows the mechanism to remain discreet, preserving the clean relationship between the pool and surrounding terrace. The cover also reduces evaporation, heat loss and debris ingress, providing practical efficiency benefits alongside its primary safety function.
