The project began with an unexpected change of direction: the customer originally wanted a pond. After seeing a friend’s small plunge pool, he was inspired to explore something he could enjoy in a different way. Together, we developed that idea into a compact pool that suited the space and made the most of the sea views. The coastal setting inspired the design, with clean lines, pale coping and timber cladding keeping the appearance simple and sympathetic to its surroundings. Working closely with the customer, we brought his changing vision to life through a reinforced blockwork construction, creating a personal retreat that combines the visual appeal of a water feature with the enjoyment of a plunge pool.

The pool is constructed from reinforced blockwork, with Certikin flow fittings, lighting and filtration equipment. A variable-speed pump allows circulation to be adjusted to suit operating requirements, while an air source heat pump (ASHP) provides water heating. The filtration system is designed to achieve a two-hour turnover period.
