Above Ground Hot Tub Project of the year (Over £10k)

Installed on 27 August 2026, this stunning Marquis Hollywood Elite showcases the new Harbour cabinet design in a real home setting. Why this entry deserves to win

Hollywood at Home. The Julie Project deserves to win because it demonstrates that a hot tub can be far more than a standalone product placed in a garden. When correctly specified, positioned and installed, it can become an integral part of a professionally designed outdoor living and wellness space. What immediately makes this project stand out is its contemporary design and attention to detail. Julie worked with a professional design team to create the overall garden concept, carefully selecting colours, finishes and materials so that every element would work seamlessly together. With a contemporary outdoor clinic, the hot tub incorporated into the gazebo and it needed to complement a very considered architectural scheme rather than compete with it.The 2026 Marquis Hollywood Elite with the new Harbour cabinet was the perfect choice. This new cabinet gives the spa a sophisticated, architectural appearance and, in this installation, demonstrates just how successfully a premium hot tub can be incorporated into a modern garden design. The Hollywood Elite also delivers substance behind its appearance. Design information

The overall theme was inspired by Julie’s vision for a seamless, contemporary outdoor space where every element feels considered and connected. Julie worked with a professional design team to select the colours, finishes and overall garden scheme, so it was essential that the hot tub complemented their carefully planned aesthetic. The Marquis Hollywood Elite with the new Harbour cabinet was an ideal choice. Its modern finish works beautifully with the surrounding colour palette and architectural style, allowing the hot tub to become part of the overall design rather than looking like an addition afterwards. A key feature of the project is the hot tub in a contemporary gazebo, the garden incorporates Julie’s outdoor clinic and creates a strong architectural focal point within the garden. The hot tub was positioned and specified to sit harmoniously alongside this structure. Although the wider landscaping is still being completed, the installation already demonstrates Julie’s original vision: a sophisticated, cohesive outdoor environment where wellness, functionality and contemporary design come together seamlessly.

Technical information

The Hollywood Elite is a premium six person hydrotherapy hot tub measuring 213cm x 213cm x 91cm, with a water capacity of approximately 1,325 litres. Dry weight is approximately 336kg, increasing to approximately 1,660kg when filled. The Hollywood Elite provides six dedicated massage positions, carefully designed to offer different styles and intensities of hydrotherapy rather than six identical seats. One laid-back lounge providing therapy from the neck through the back and down towards the legs and feet. Two deep therapy seats providing comprehensive full-back hydrotherapy. Two comfortable bucket seats. One higher therapy cool down position, making the spa suitable for users of different heights and allowing the user to sit higher in the water when required. Dedicated neck therapy. Foot therapy jets. The signature Whitewater 4 jet, designed to provide a powerful high volume massage experience. The spa incorporates 41 therapy jets, including Marquis Century II adjustable and interchangeable jets with stainless-steel faces. This allows the customer to adjust individual jet flow and personalise the massage experience. The Hollywood Elite is a dual pump system, providing considerably greater flexibility than a basic single pump spa. The two pump system has a quoted combined maximum flow of approximately 1,211 litres per minute. This allows the Hollywood Elite to operate multiple hydrotherapy zones while maintaining strong massage performance. The Hollywood Elite uses Marquis ConstantClean filtration and water management system with a single 50 sq ft. threaded filter cartridge. The water-management system is designed to continually support clear, hygienic water while reducing the amount of manual intervention required from the owner. Depending upon specification, ConstantClean+ can incorporate in line sanitation and CD ozone Advanced Plasma Gap ozone technology, adding another level of water treatment. The Hollywood Elite needs 32A supply, correctly specified dedicated electrical supply was incorporated into the project to ensure safe and reliable operation of the dual-pump spa. The Hollywood Elite incorporates a number of premium design and construction features, including: New Harbour all-weather cabinet DuraShell acrylic interior Icynene foam insulation over the plumbing High resolution colour topside control Adjustable interchangeable Century II jets with stainless steel faces Whitewater 4 therapy Dedicated neck and foot therapy ConstantClean water management Backlit pop up waterfall Twilight LED lighting capability Insulated spa cover Six person ergonomic seating configuration A particularly important element of this entry is the new Harbour cabinet. Julie and her garden design team had developed a very contemporary scheme in which colours, finishes and structures needed to flow seamlessly together. The new cabinet gave us an opportunity to integrate a substantial piece of wellness equipment into that scheme without compromising the overall aesthetic. One of the strengths of this project was the planning undertaken before installation. Unlike many premium hot tub installations, no crane, Hiab or specialist lifting equipment was required. We assessed the access route and established that the 336kg dry spa could be safely manoeuvred down the side of the property to its prepared final position. This significantly simplified the installation, reduced disruption at the property and avoided unnecessary lifting costs for the customer. The absence of a dramatic access problem should not detract from the installation: good projects are often defined by the fact that potential problems have been considered and eliminated before delivery. The principal challenge was therefore not physical access, but design integration. Julie had already invested heavily in professional garden design, with a contemporary outdoor clinic incorporated within a gazebo and a very specific palette of colours and finishes. Introducing a large 2.13m-square hot tub into such a carefully considered environment meant that its position, orientation and finish all mattered. The new Harbour cabinet was particularly successful in overcoming this design challenge. Rather than appearing as a separate piece of equipment placed into the garden, the Hollywood Elite complements the architectural finishes and helps connect the different elements of the scheme. The wider garden was still being completed when the Hollywood Elite was installed on 27 August 2026, making this technically a working project at the time of photography. However, this also provides an excellent demonstration of how effective early product selection and installation planning can be. Even before the final landscaping is complete, the relationship between the hot tub, gazebo, outdoor clinic and contemporary garden design is already clearly visible. The finished installation combines high performance hydrotherapy, substantial filtration, dual pump performance and premium construction with a carefully considered contemporary aesthetic, demonstrating that a technically capable hot tub can also become an integral part of an architecturally designed outdoor space.
