We were asked by a potential client to view a recently purchased Caravan and land that they had recently purchased (in 2024) with a view to them developing the site into an upmarket Air BnB, Red Lodge. It was decided to go for a large 6m x 2.3m swim spa and separate hot tub. The views from the Lodge are far reaching and the clients wanted to build a large deck to provide an entertaining area for guests to enjoy the outdoors.

The end result will provide guests with a stunning, private retreat.The views from Red Lodge are incredible, not another building in sight. It could be in California or Australia, the place has a magical feel.The area before was unused due to the sloping garden, the clients design has made full use of the area with an enlarged Cabin, the large deck with swim spa and hot tub, the volleyball court and slide are just fun. This will be a special place for people to relax and unwind.It was a pleasure to work with these people, a lot of patience has been needed but the end result is well worth it. This installation will be enjoyed by many people for years to come.

Planning permission was initially refused to build the deck and after a two year Planning Appeal the permission was finally granted in 2026. The swim spa was changed to the new AQUASOLUS FLOW model, which was deeper and better insulated than the original model chosen. The deck area had already been built and an opening had been left to lower the swim spa into position. On June the 29th 2026 the swim spa was delivered and craned into position. A 4 person hot tub from Passion Spas was also included in the installation. The decked area is overlooked from the bedroom and living area in the lodge, the entire front elevation being fully glazed. There is a Volleyball Court on a lower level access by a slide!! The deck has a barbecue, lounger chairs plus a full arrangement of outdoor seating. It is a stunning location and a credit to the Clients Design Skills and persistence.

The hardest part of this installation was getting the Planning Committee to accept the clients proposal. It was a big change to what was previously on the site. After two years and a planning appeal the go ahead was given. Once this happened it was all hands on deck so that there owners could get the project finished and start opening Red Lodge as a Luxury Air BnB The narrow, steep lane down to the property meant that the hot tub and swim spa had to be delivered using a Land Rover and trailer, as opposed to a lorry with a HI AB. The hot tub was installed first, and a return trip to deliver the swim spa. A small crane was located which could get down the track and this was used to lift the swim spa over the lodge and into position. Once in place the decking was finished and we worked from underneath the deck to connect the electrical supplies up to the swim spa and hot tub. An AQUARK MS90 Air source heat pump was connected to the AQUASOLUS FLOW swim spa, connecting easily into the in built flow and return pipework.
